Narrative
The first album from the Narrative Quintet, self-titled, “Narrative” features 7 original compositions and one arrangement. The band includes saxophonists Adam Larson and Chris Madsen, guitarist Scott Hesse, bassist Clark Sommers, and drummer John Kizilarmut.
There are only 100 physical copies of this album and the digital rollout will not occur until late fall 2023.

The Trio Book (2023)
Released in May 2023, this album features mostly covers by artists such as Steve Swallow, Wes Montgomery, and Freddie Hubbard. Featuring Clark Sommers on bass and Dana Hall on drums.
Bonfire (2019)
Chris Madsen’s latest release of all original music, Bonfire was released to rave reviews. Music from this album was featured by his quartet at the 2019 Chicago Jazz Festival.
kings of the lobby (2017)
A different kind of project, “Kings of the Lobby” draws inspiration from classic horn-led jazz-funk bands and plays Madsen’s arrangements of pop, rock, and R&B songs from the 1970s through the 1990s.
